Loved reading this Justin and glad you enjoyed your experience! I was a huge Lego fan as a child and had the original version of this set but can’t justify getting it now. I’m also just old enough that I had aged out of Lego by the time they started releasing their branded / franchise based sets initially with Star Wars, I get so jealous now with all the choice.
Also my 6 year old daughter has now become a big fan over the lockdown periods and has a fair collection of the Friends range. It’s been great to see her start to enjoy and also involve my wife with with the bigger sets. My wife who suffers with anxiety and previously had no interest in Lego has also really enjoyed the building and found it helped her anxiety.
I’ve purchased her the Central Perk and Harry Potter Great Hall sets as Christmas gifts as they were in good offers here in the uk. I’m excited to see her reaction.
Looking forward to your future posts and keep up the great work.
Thank you Daniel! It sounds like you're already all over it but the Lego Bonsai Tree, Flower Bouquet, and other botanical collection sets may be worth considering.
Identifying with this in a big way. My adult lego journey started with the simpsons house, and it there was no going back. It’s a huge part of our family now.
One pro tip as you may be a LEGO VIP. Purchase the LEGO creationary game with your points. It’s like Pictionary with LEGO bricks and my family has a blast playing it together (two boys 3 and 5 years old). We are building the haunted house right now in prep for Halloween. From a business perspective, the company is a fascinating study and is really hitting its stride with new audiences. Looking forward to reading about your experiences. Highly recommend the NES.
Great article Justin! Which modular building are you making?
Thank you! I'm still working through Assembly Square.
